People spend a lot of time and money on their wedding flowers and aren\’t afraid to designate an estimated eight percent of their wedding budget towards flowers. From boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen to bouquets for the bride and bridal party and flowers for the flower girl, weddings tend to have an abundance of flowers.
But just how much do Americans spend on flowers each year? What kind of flowers are we buying? Well, in the US, we spend about $26,600,000,000 on flowers and other floral products in any given year. As for the type of flowers, we\’re buying? Well, roses are popular for the romantic holidays and special occasions, like Valentines Day and anniversaries. Another popular flower is the tulip, despite its extremely short lifespan of three to seven days.
And people aren\’t just buying their friends and loved ones flower gifts. In fact, more and more women are beginning to buy themselves flowers, and why not.
